Studio (editable site)

A tour of Studio

Where everything is in the Studio of an editable site, from the header to the Cortex bar.

Studio is where you change your editable site. This page walks you through its parts so you know where to look for each thing.

The header

On the left:

  • The arrow goes back to Projects.
  • Your project's name opens a menu with Launch, Integrations, Pulse, Forms, SEO, Domain & hosting, History and Settings. You can also change Berse's language there.
  • The page picker lets you jump to another page of your site.

In the middle, the modes: Design, Code and Preview (the live preview).

On the right:

  • The screen size: Desktop, Tablet and Mobile.
  • Undo and redo, and the save status: "Saving", "Unsaved" or "Saved".
  • Your credits, with a ring that shows how many you have left.
  • Publish, to put your site online. See Publishing and updating your site.

If you work with other people, you also see their avatars. Press one to go to the page they're on.

The left panel

In Design mode, the sidebar has these tabs:

TabWhat it's for
AddElements and sections you drag onto the canvas.
MediaYour images, stock photos and your logo.
LayersThe page as a tree of elements.
PagesYour site's pages: open, add or remove them.
IntegrationsPayments, email and map. See Integrations.
Ready to launchWhat's left before going online. See Ready to launch.

The canvas and Properties

The canvas sits in the middle: your site as it looks. Click anywhere to select it.

On the right is Properties, with the settings for what you selected. If you want more room, press Hide properties. To bring it back, use Show properties at the top right of the canvas.

The Cortex bar

The Cortex bar sits at the bottom. That's where you ask for changes in your own words. See Asking for changes that work.

Where's the save button?

In Design you don't need one: every change saves itself. In Code you save with Save revision or ⌘S. If you switch modes, Studio saves anything pending first.

If you were invited to view

If your role is Can view, you'll see a View only label instead of Publish. You can browse the pages in the preview, but you can't edit or publish.
