Integrations and the "/" shortcut
Take payments, get your messages by email and show a map of your business, all set up with Cortex.
Integrations give your site new abilities: taking payments, emailing you its messages and showing where you are. Cortex sets them up with you in a short conversation.
Editable sites only
Integrations exist for editable sites. On a Made by Cortex site, ask Cortex in the chat for what you need. Forms work on both kinds of site, with nothing to set up.
The three integrations
| Integration | What it does | Needs keys? |
|---|---|---|
| Take payments | Connects your buttons to Stripe: one-off payments, subscriptions, cart and bookings. | Yes, your Stripe key |
| Get messages by email | Decides what reaches you from each form and what the sender receives. | No |
| Map of your business | Adds a map with a Get directions button. | No |
Three ways to start
From Studio
In Design, open the Integrations panel in the left bar and tap the one you want. The conversation with Cortex opens right there, and you see on the canvas what changes.
By typing "/" in the Cortex bar
Type / in the Cortex bar and pick from the menu: /stripe, /resend or /maps. You can add what you know in the same sentence, for example "connect /stripe, it's yoga classes at $15 a class". That text becomes the first message of the conversation.
You can also say it in your own words: "I want to take payments on my site" or "add a map of my business". If Cortex isn't sure whether you want to connect something or make a change, it asks.
From the Integrations tab
In the project header, the Integrations tab shows each one's status: Connected, Available or Action required. Press Set up with Cortex to open it in Studio, or Details to see its summary.
For developers
Site keys and variables (in Studio) and Advanced · for developers (in the tab) let you add your own environment variables. Keys are stored encrypted in your site's hosting: nobody can see them again, Berse included.
Publish after connecting
An integration's changes reach your site when you publish. If your site is already online, press Publish changes.
