Getting started

Words you'll see in Berse

What each term in Berse means, in one sentence.

Your site

  • Project: every site you create. Your projects are on Berse's home screen.
  • Editable site: a site you edit yourself on a visual canvas. See Editable site or Made by Cortex.
  • Made by Cortex: a site Cortex codes to measure and you change by talking to it.
  • Studio: where you edit your site. It opens with Open Studio.
  • Revision: every time a change is saved, Berse keeps a revision. You see them in History and can go back to any of them.

Cortex

  • Cortex: Berse's assistant. It builds your site, changes it when you ask and fixes errors.
  • Credits: what Cortex uses as it works. Every plan comes with credits each month; you see them in the ring at the top.
  • Live preview: your site actually running inside Studio, with its links and forms.

Online

  • Publish: putting your site online. Saving doesn't publish: changes go online when you press Publish changes.
  • Free address: your site's free address, like yourbusiness.berse.site on an editable site. A Made by Cortex site gets its own on a separate Berse domain.
  • Custom domain: your own address, like yourbusiness.com. You connect it with a paid plan.
  • "Made with Berse" badge: a small tag on Free plan sites. It goes away with any paid plan.

Grow

  • Pulse: who visits your site and, above all, who contacts you. No cookies.
  • Forms: the inbox where messages people send from your site arrive.
  • Ready to launch: what to check before and after publishing an editable site.
