How to describe your idea
What to tell Cortex when you create your site so the first result looks like what you have in mind.
A few well-chosen sentences are enough for Cortex to build a site that already talks about your business. This page shows where to write your idea and what to include.
Where you write it
Go to Projects and press New project. The What do you want to build? screen opens.
Choose the kind of site
Under Kind of site, choose Editable site or Made by Cortex (beta). You can't change the kind later. If you're unsure, read Editable site or Made by Cortex.
Write your idea in the box
Type in Describe your project. Enter adds a new line, so you can write in paragraphs.
Choose the content language
Under Content language, choose Español or English. It's the language of your site's text.
Press Create
Press Create or ⌘ ↵ (Ctrl + Enter on Windows).
What to tell Cortex
You don't need to write much. Being specific helps most:
- What you do and for whom: "Yoga classes for beginners and older adults".
- Where you are: the city or neighborhood, if you have a place.
- What you offer: your services or products, and prices if you want to show them.
- How people reach you: phone, WhatsApp, email or address.
- How it should feel: warm, elegant, playful, serious…
- Your brand name: if you don't give one, Cortex invents a short one. You can change it later.
An example:
Levaina, an artisan bakery in Austin. Sourdough bread, pastries and coffee. Open Tuesday to Sunday. I want a warm site with photos of the bakery and a button to order on WhatsApp.
One page or several
If you want a single-page site, say so: write "landing" or "everything on one page". If you don't, an editable site usually comes out with 2 or 3 pages, depending on your business.
The site's language isn't Berse's language
Content language decides the language of your site's text. It doesn't change the language you see Berse in. You can use Berse in English and create a site in Spanish.
If something goes wrong
If creation doesn't finish, you'll see: "Generation didn't finish. Your project is saved". You can try again or open it in Studio. Your idea isn't lost.
