Reference images and links
Attach your logo, your photos or a site you like so Cortex better understands what you want.
An image or a link saves Cortex a lot of words. You can attach them when you create your site and later, when you ask for changes.
Attaching images
- Press the paperclip next to your idea box and choose your images.
- You can also paste them or drag them onto the box.
- You can attach up to 4 per message. Cortex understands PNG, JPG, WebP and other image formats.
Each image shows up as a thumbnail under the box. To remove one, press its ✕.
Pasting a link
Paste a site's address inside your text. It turns into a small badge with the domain, right where you pasted it. To remove it, press its ✕ or delete it with the backspace key.
Video links from YouTube, Vimeo and similar stay in your text as videos to put on your site. They aren't read as a page.
You don't have to wait
Create works right away. Berse looks at your images and reads your links while it builds your site. On the creation screen you'll see messages like "Reading levaina.com…" or "Looking at your image…".
If something can't be read, Berse tries once more. If it still can't, you'll see "We couldn't look at one of your images or links: going on with your idea".
Say what each one is for
Cortex reads your whole message to know what to do with each image:
- It goes on your site: "this is my logo", "put this photo in the hero". Cortex saves it to your images and places it.
- It's only inspiration: "I want colors like these", "something like this site". Cortex takes ideas from it and doesn't publish it.
In the Studio Cortex bar, you can tap an attached image and turn on Use on my site to decide yourself.
Someone else's site is only inspiration
If you link a site that isn't yours, Cortex is told to take only ideas from its style, not its text, logo or menu. Check the result before publishing. If it's your own site, see Recreate your current site.
In Studio too
In the Cortex bar of an editable site, the paperclip lets you upload an image or paste a link. In a Made by Cortex site, you attach images in the chat. See Talking to Cortex.
