Fix with Cortex
When your site shows an error, one button hands it to Cortex so it can find the cause and fix it.
Sometimes a site fails: it can't be built to publish it, or a page shows an error. With Fix with Cortex you don't need to understand the error. Cortex reads it, finds the cause in the code and fixes it.
Where it appears
On an editable site, the Fix with Cortex button appears next to the error in these places:
| Where | What you'll see |
|---|---|
| The preview (Preview) | "The site couldn't be built" or "This page has an error" |
| The Publish menu, if publishing fails | "The site couldn't be built" |
| Domain & hosting, if the last publish failed | "The site couldn't be built" |
You can open the error's details to read it in full, but you don't have to.
How to use it
Press Fix with Cortex
Cortex starts working. You'll see its steps live, like "Reading…" or "Checking that everything works".
Wait a few seconds
Cortex finds the cause, fixes it and checks that the site works again. It doesn't remove content from your site.
Check the result
When it's done, you'll see what it did and how many files it changed. The fix is saved as a new version.
Publish again
If the error came up while publishing, press Publish again in the Publish menu.
If it can't fix it
You'll see a message explaining what happened and a Try again button. If it's still not fixed, describe the problem in the Cortex bar in your own words. You can also go back to an earlier version from History.
You can undo it
Each fix is a new version of your site. If you're not happy with it, go back to the previous one from History. See History, restore and taking offline.
You can also paste the error
If you see an error somewhere else, paste it into the Cortex bar and ask it to "fix it". Cortex handles it the same way.
On a Made by Cortex site
Tell Cortex about the error in the chat, in your own words or by pasting the message. Cortex checks it and fixes it like any other request. See Talking to Cortex.
Who can use it
Only people who can edit the project see the button. It uses credits only if Cortex saves a fix.
