History, restore and taking offline

Go back to an earlier version of your site, take it offline whenever you like, or delete the project.

Berse keeps a full version of your site every time a change is saved. Here you learn how to go back to an earlier version, how to take your site offline and how to delete a project.

Seeing the history

In Studio, click your project's name (top left) and choose History. On a Made by Cortex site, open it with the gear at the top. You'll see every version, newest first, with what changed in each one.

Two badges help you find your way: Editing is the version you work on in Studio, and Live is the one that's published. Restoring never deletes a version.

Going back to an earlier version

Find the version

In History, find the version you want to go back to.

Press Restore

Press Restore. Berse copies that version as a new version, so you don't lose the others.

Publish if you want it online

Restoring doesn't publish. If your site was already online, press Publish changes in Studio.

On a Made by Cortex site you can also undo a single request from the chat, with Back to before this request. See Talking to Cortex.

Taking your site offline

If you want your site to stop showing, without deleting anything:

Open Domain & hosting

In the project settings, choose Domain & hosting.

Press Take offline

Press Take offline and confirm with Yes, take it offline. It can take a minute to stop opening everywhere.

Your project, your versions and your Pulse data are kept. Your free address stays reserved for when you publish again.

Your custom domains are disconnected. After you publish again, you'll need to add them again.

Deleting a project

In the project settings, choose Settings and scroll down to Delete the project. Press Delete project, type the word "delete" to confirm and press Delete forever.

If the site is published, Berse takes it offline first. If it can't, it deletes nothing and tells you. Only the owner or an admin can delete a project.

Deleting can't be undone

The project, all its versions and its history are deleted. If you only want the site to stop showing, use Take offline. Before deleting, you can download your code in Settings → Your code → Download.
