Your images, stock photos and your logo
Upload your photos and logo, find free photos, put your logo across the site and give your images a style.
Your site feels more like yours with your own photos and logo. Here you learn how to upload them, find free photos and put your logo on every page at once.
Where your images are
On an editable site, open Studio in Design and choose Media in the left bar. That's your project's image library, with two tabs: Your images and Find photos.
You can filter by All, Logos, Photos or From your site (the ones brought over from your previous site).
Uploading your images
Press Upload images, drag the files in or paste them. Berse optimizes them so your site loads fast and removes hidden data from photos, such as location.
When you upload an image, Cortex writes a description for people who can't see it. You can change it in the image options, along with its type (logo, photo, illustration…).
Cortex also uses your library: when it builds or changes your site, it prefers your images over stock photos.
Putting an image on your site
- With something selected on the canvas: tap an image and it replaces the selected one, or goes right after it.
- With nothing selected: tap an image and it goes to the Cortex bar. Tell Cortex where to put it, for example "as the logo in the menu".
- By dragging: drag the image to the spot on the canvas where you want it.
With an image selected on the canvas, the inspector also has Choose from your images. For a block's background, use Background image.
Free stock photos
In Find photos, type what you're looking for and press Search. Use them just like your own images. Berse keeps the photographer's name.
When you select a stock photo, the inspector shows who took it and a note about its licence. Read it, especially if the photo shows people, brands or recognisable places.
Your logo across the site
Upload your logo
Upload it in Media. If you have a light version and a dark one, upload both.
Use it as the logo
In the image options, press Use as the site's logo. You can also select your brand name on the canvas and press Replace with my logo. If you type "logo" in the Cortex bar, you'll see the Put my logo across the site shortcut.
Check where it goes
Berse finds your brand in the menu and footer of every page. In each spot it picks the version that looks best on that background, and you can change it by tapping another.
Apply it
Press the button with the number of places, for example Put my logo in 6 places. Everything is saved at once.
If your logo barely shows on some background, Berse tells you and suggests Upload another version of the logo. To go back, restore the previous version from History.
Giving your photos a style
Select a photo and open Image style in the inspector. There are styles such as Dither, Halftone, Pixel, Duotone, Grain and B/W, in your site's colours, with Soft, Medium or Strong intensity.
You can apply it to one photo, every photo on the page or every photo on the site. The original photo is kept: Original takes you back to it.
Before you delete an image
If any page uses it, Berse tells you which ones. If you delete it, it will disappear there.
On a Made by Cortex site
There's no Media panel. Attach your images in the chat and tell Cortex what they're for: "it's my logo, put it in the menu and footer". See Talking to Cortex.
