Inviting people and roles

Invite other people to a project, choose whether they can edit or only view, and work with them at the same time in Studio.

You can invite other people to a specific project: a partner, a client or whoever helps you with the site. Here you learn how to invite them, how to choose what they can do and how teamwork works.

Inviting someone

Open Access

In Studio, click your project's name (top left) and choose Settings, then go to the Access section. On a Made by Cortex site, open it with the gear at the top.

Fill in the invite

Under Invite someone to this project, type their email (optional) and choose the role: Can edit or Can view. Add a personal note if you like.

Press Create invite link. If you typed an email, Berse sends them the invitation. If not, share it yourself: Send from my email opens your email with the text ready, or press Copy to send the link any way you like.

The link works for one person and expires in 14 days. For security, Berse won't show it again: if you lose it, create another.

For Berse to send invitations for you, your email has to be confirmed. In the meantime, use Send from my email or copy the link.

What each role can do

Can editCan view
See the site in StudioYesYes, in an editable site's preview
Change the site and ask Cortex for changesYesNo
PublishYesNo
See Pulse and the historyYesYes
Invite more peopleNoNo
Delete the projectNoNo

On a Made by Cortex site, the live preview is only for people who edit, during the beta.

Collaborators only see this project, never your other projects. In their project list it shows up as Shared with you.

Only the owner or an admin can invite, change someone's role, revoke an unused link with Revoke or remove someone with Remove access. A collaborator can leave whenever they want with Leave project.

Working at the same time

When several people are in Studio, you see their avatars in the header, with the page and mode each one is on. If someone is typing, you'll see "Ana · typing…".

  • Editable site: in Design, whatever someone else has selected is outlined in their colour. If you both change different parts of the same page, Berse combines them on its own and tells you: "Your changes were combined with someone else's".
  • Made by Cortex: everyone sees the current Cortex request live, with who asked for it. In Code you'll see a dot in each person's colour next to the file they have open.

Who pays for credits?

Always the project owner's space, whoever asks for the change. Collaborators don't see your balance.

Give the project a limit

If you share a project with a client, you can set aside a number of credits a month for it. Collaborators only see and spend that amount. See Credits set aside for a project.
