Credits set aside for a project

Give a shared project its own monthly amount of credits, without collaborators seeing your balance.

If you share a project, for example with a client, you can set aside a monthly amount of credits for it. Inside that project, spending comes only from there, and collaborators never see your balance.

How it works

  • You pick a monthly amount. This month's share comes out of your balance right away: with 750 credits, setting aside 250 leaves you 500 free.
  • Inside the project, everyone spends only from those credits, you included.
  • Collaborators only see this project's credits, never your balance.
  • If they run out, Cortex stops in that project until you top it up or it renews. The rest of your balance isn't touched.
  • Each new month, the project goes back to its amount. What wasn't spent expires with the month, like the rest of your monthly credits.

Whoever asks for a change, the credits always come from the owner's workspace.

Setting credits aside

Only the workspace owner can do this.

Open the project's credits indicator

Inside the project, tap the credits ring in the header. You can also find it in Settings → Access, on the This project's credits card.

Choose the monthly amount

In the Every month tab, type the amount or use the slider. Below, you see how many will stay free in your account.

Confirm

The button says what it will do, for example Set aside 250 credits. Press it and confirm.

Topping up and changing the amount

  • Top up this month: in the Top up now tab, you refill what was spent. A top-up never goes past the monthly amount.
  • Give it more: if the project needs more than its monthly amount, raise its monthly credits in Every month.
  • Take back what's unspent: returns to your balance what the project didn't use this month.
  • Remove limit: the project goes back to using your overall balance.

In Usage & credits you see how many credits you have Set aside for projects and the list of projects with their amount.

When to use it

It's handy when you build sites for clients: invite them to their project, set aside an amount, and they can ask Cortex for changes without touching the rest of your credits.
