Profile, password, language and deleting your account

Change how collaborators see you, your password and your language, download your data or delete your account.

Everything about your account is on one page. From your account menu at the top right, choose Account & privacy. It has six sections: Profile, Security, Connections (see Connections), Your data, Agreements and Delete account.

Profile

Your profile is how the people you work with see you in Berse.

  • Name: what you'd like us to call you.
  • Username: your @username, 3 to 30 characters using lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. As you type, Berse tells you whether it's available.
  • What you do: for example, "photographer" or "coffee shop".
  • Avatar colour: the colour of your initial in Berse.

Press Save profile.

Changing your password

Open Security

In Security, find Password.

Enter the current one and the new one

We ask for your Current password, so nobody can change it just because your session is open. The new one needs at least 8 characters.

Save

Press Save password.

Can't remember the current one? Sign out of Berse and, when signing in, use Forgot your password?. We email you a link to choose a new one.

Language

Switch between Spanish and English with the language switch in your account menu (top right), or in Studio from your project's name menu. Your choice also sets the language of the emails Berse sends you.

Berse's language isn't your site's language. Your site's language is chosen when you create it, under Content language.

Downloading your data

In Your data, press Download my data. You get a file with your account, your acceptances and each of your projects. Projects other people share with you appear only as a reference.

To take a site's code with you, open that project's settings and download it under Your code.

Deleting your account

In Delete account, type your email to confirm and press Delete my account. Berse does it in this order:

  1. If you have a paid plan, it's cancelled right away. You won't be charged again.
  2. Your sites are taken offline.
  3. Your account, your profile and all your projects with their history are deleted.

If a step fails, your account and projects aren't deleted and you can try again. If the failure comes after step 1, your plan stays cancelled.

This can't be undone

The period you've already paid for isn't refunded and any credits left are lost. Download your data and your sites' code first if you want them.
