Pulse: who visits and who contacts you
See how many people visit your site, how many contact you and what to improve, with no cookies.
Pulse tells you how your site is doing in plain words: how many visits you get, how many people contacted you, and what to change first. It starts measuring as soon as your site is published.
Where to find it
In the project header, the Pulse tab. On a Made by Cortex site, it's also in the Studio header.
Pulse uses no cookies, doesn't store IP addresses and can't link a visitor's days together. To count who comes back, it keeps a small note without any identifier in the visitor's browser. Whether your site needs a consent notice depends on the law where you operate.
What you see
- They contacted you: calls, WhatsApp, emails, forms, bookings, payments and "directions" clicks, split by type. It's the number that matters most.
- Visits per day, with the days you published marked on the chart.
- What they look at most, Where they come from and Which device.
- What to improve: Pulse checks your site and what visitors do, and tells you what to change first.
At the top, Period changes the days you see. With fewer than 10 visits, Pulse shows you your first visits before drawing conclusions.
How your visitors behave
On a paid plan, Pulse also shows how people move through your site:
- How far they read on each page, and where most people leave.
- Where they come in and where they leave.
- When they visit, with your best time to post on social media.
- Who visits: countries, cities and languages.
From Starter, also: Where your customers come from (which sources bring contacts, not just visits), What frustrates them (buttons that don't respond, abandoned forms) and Who comes back.
Improve with Cortex
On an editable site, each item in What to improve can have Improve with Cortex. Cortex prepares the change and you see a preview before deciding. Nothing changes until you press Approve and publish (or Approve and save if your site isn't online yet).
Afterwards, What you changed and its effect measures each change from the moment it's online and tells you whether it got better, worse, or made no clear difference.
The Monday email
Every Monday you get a summary of your week: contacts, visits compared with the week before, and one concrete thing to do. The project owner gets it for each published site. You can unsubscribe from just this email using the link inside it.
If your site stops loading, Berse emails you so you can check it.
Depends on your plan
Pulse stores everything on every plan. Your plan decides how much you can see, so when you upgrade the full history appears.
| Plan | History | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 7 days | Contacts, visits and the first suggested improvement |
| Hobby | 30 days | All improvements, behaviour and Cortex proposals |
| Starter | 90 days | All of the above, sources that convert, frustrations and the effect of each change |
| Pro and Business | 365 days | Everything |
Pulse shows 0 visits?
Pulse only measures your published site, not the preview. Publish and share your link with customers, friends or on social media. If you published a while ago and nothing arrives, press Publish again once.
