Choosing a design direction
When you create a Made by Cortex site or ask for a redesign, Cortex proposes three design directions for you to pick from.
Before building a new site or redesigning yours, Cortex proposes three different ways to tell its story. You pick one, or mix them, and Cortex builds from there.
When they appear
Directions appear in the chat when:
- you create a Made by Cortex site, or
- you ask Cortex for a full redesign of your site.
They don't appear for an ordinary change ("change the title", "add a section"): Cortex keeps the design your site already has. Nor do they appear when you ask it to recreate your current site: there it keeps your style, logo and colours.
What each direction shows
In the Three directions for your site card, each proposal comes with its name, its colour palette, its fonts and the idea behind it. One is marked Recommended: it's the one Cortex thinks fits your business best.
The three are genuinely different from each other, in style and in colour. Take a moment to look at them.
Choosing
Look at the three proposals
Read the name, the idea and the palette of each one.
Pick or mix
Press Use this one on the one you like best. If you'd like to combine them, write it in the chat: for example, "the type of 1 with the colours of 3".
Watch it being built
Cortex carries on with its plan and you'll see your site appear in the preview.
If you don't choose
With Studio open, you'll see a countdown: "Going ahead with the recommended one in 45 s". If you don't choose in time, Cortex goes ahead with the recommended one.
Need to think about it? Press Wait. Cortex waits for your choice for up to 30 minutes.
It chose without you?
That's fine. You can ask for another style later, for example "redesign it with direction 2", or go back with Back to before this request.

Talking to Cortex: plan, questions and approvals
How to ask Cortex for changes on a Made by Cortex site, follow its plan, answer its questions, and stop or undo a request.

Point at parts of your site so Cortex knows what you mean, and open your site's files in Code mode.
